Awarded by the Knut & Alice Wallenberg Foundation as Wallenberg Scholars in 2009. The foundation asked all Swedish universities to nominate their “leading scholars” (all together, Swedish universities nominated 60 scholars). In May 2009, based on recommendations from an international group of distinguished scholars, the Foundation decided to give out ten awards with me as the only social scientist. The award is Euro1.5 mil. over five years to support my research.
