Marco Nilsson is a senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science and a board member of the Swedish Political Science Association's IR section.
His research deals mainly with interstate wars and terrorism, but he has also published a book on jurisprudence.
He is currently conducting research on suicide terrorism from a rational choice perspective and on the impact of systemic effects on the magnitude of interstate wars. He has also recently completed a study on the offense-defense theory’s expectations about war duration and its consequences for the security dilemma.
He is the course director for four courses:
Global Security and Democracy (MA level); Swedish Politics in an Comparative Perspective; Individual, Group and Culture; Evaluation of VET.
