Conference: Varieties of Democracy - A New Approach

The Kellogg Institute (University of Notre Dame) and The Quality of Government Institute (University of Gothenburg) present Varieties of Democracy: A New Approach. This project is an effort to measure democracy better than existing data in respect to different dimensions of democracy and the disaggregated indicators of these dimensions in a timeframe from 1900 to the present.

At the conference we will present the results of a pilot phase where we have completed expert codings on all 200+ indicators for 12 countries from 1900 to the present. We intend to show how our project can be valuable for both foreign administrations and aid organizations.
