For this internal V-Dem conference 12 V-Dem Project Managers from leading universities as well the Principal Investigators of V-Dem - Staffan I. Lindberg, Michael Coppedge, and John Gerring will meet.

Varieties of Democracy - A Launching V-Dem Conference.

On this day, we will launch the Varieties of Democracy Database, with (at that point) some 10-15 million data points, and the seven main indices of different democracies. We expect to have collected data for 2/3 of the countries in the world at that point and look forward to be presenting the results to you. For the presentation of this new global and largest-ever data base on democracy, will be 12 V-Dem Project Manager from leading universities, over 20 of the V-Dem Regional Managers from across the world, as well as a host of academics, policy organization representatives, ambassadors, and international NGOs. The University of Gothenburg will be represented at the conference by Vice-Chancellor Professor Pam Fredman. We hope that you will join us for the inaugural demonstration of what will become a world-leading resource for democracy scholarship, NGO outreach and advocacy, as well as policy making.
